It may be summer, but that doesn't necessarily mean cashmere should be excluded from your decorated inventory until the cold weather starts approaching. This refined material is used in summer cardigans, accessories such as scarves and hats, and even casual wear. But for your fashion-conscious clients, who may be hesitant when it comes to purchasing cashmere this season, consider highlighting the garment's characteristics to help persuade them. Here are three qualities to pinpoint when selling this luxuriant wool: Soft hand. "The difference between wearing a cashmere garment compared to any other is noticeable," says Taraynn Lloyd, director of marketing. "Its smooth, silken feel will be treasured by each wearer and should result in them longing for more." Color. Lloyd says the colors in cashmere are more vibrant today than in years past. "We're seeing more lilacs, reds and yellows evolve in this garment. And having those colors, paired with the darker colors that were traditionally offered, will appeal to a larger client base," she says. Lightweight. "Despite its appearance, cashmere produces natural lightweight insulation without bulk. It's not like your fisherman's wool," says Lloyd. "Outdoor enthusiasts can wear it in layers, because it's not as heavy." |
